Anyone who is into dressing well has heard the phrase “Fit is King”.
Although this is a common phrase, it is evident not everyone takes this phrase seriously.
Some people wear their suits directly off the rack, others are meticulous about getting all the details right by their personal tailor.
Are you curious to know what group I fall into? Find out by checking out today’s Blog Bites post!

We’ve Got Receipts
Below is a picture of one of my recent receipts from my personal tailor.

My tailor, Mrs. Cynthia, worked on the following items for me:
- Tailoring 5 shirts (work uniforms)
- 2 Suit Jackets
- 2 Pants
- 1 Casual Shirt
The suits and casual shirt probably explain themselves as for why I had them tailored.
But the other thing I had tailored was my work uniforms. They are button-down shirts with a collar. My company provides these at no cost to me.
Instead of wearing them “off the rack”, I get them tailored so they look flattering on me.
I prefer to look presentable at work, at church, and even on the weekends when I’m just hanging out with my wife or friends.
Conclusion

My strategy for crafting a well-rounded (and well-fitted) wardrobe has been simply from Day 1.
“Buy the best possible items for the best possible prices “
My mindset towards shopping
The suits that were recently tailored by Mrs. Cynthia were by the brands Brooks Brothers and Hart Schaffner & Marx. I paid about $20 for each of them by thrifting.
Either of the two suits could easily cost $500+ when purchased new, but I paid $562 to get them, as well as many other clothing items purchased and tailored.
Shop smarter not harder my friends.
Until next time, y’all have a good one.
