Let’s be honest. Most people in this world who could do better financially, never will. In today’s post we’ll tell you exactly why.
Since we at A Step Above Style value your time (and because you already know why you’re here) we’ll jump right in.
Let’s begin.
The Reason Why
The hard truth is as follows:
To put the above quote a different way:
These type of people quite literally sacrifice their well-being just to make people think “they got it like that”.
Example
Below we will give a example to further illustrate our point.
Let’s say a person is looking for a house. The options before them are Example #1 and Example #2.
Example #1 – Here you have a house that’s off the beaten path, small, and modest. On the bright side, it’s affordable.
Moving in here allows you to keep your living expenses under 30% of your income. Additionally, it makes sense financially for you and your family (even if it doesn’t look as nice as some of your friends houses).
Example #2 – Here you have a house that’s inside the city limits, and near all your favorite stores. It’s large, has plenty of room, and most importantly, would show others that “you’ve made it”!
This house would take up 50% of your income, but the loan agent did say you qualified for this home. Once you fill it up with high quality furniture, it’ll be the place to be!
And although you make just enough to make the payments now, you’re pretty sure you’ll make more in the future right? Right??
As you can imagine, most people are going to pick Example #2.
The Bottom Line
Many people will take advantage of every loophole possible to get the things they want.
If they can’t afford something with cash, they get a loan from a friend.
If they can’t get money from a friend, they’ll pay for something using a “buy now, pay later” feature like Klarna.
If that’s unavailable, they’ll purchase something with a credit card expecting to pay it back with their next paycheck.
