Have you ever wondered what the author of this blog wears?
After all, the guy who writes all these posts should be pretty stylish himself right?
Well today you’ll get to be the judge of all that.
In this post we’ll take a look at a few photos that show you how I dress for various occasions.
It’s a inside look as to what I like to wear, where I like to wear it, and how I decide what to put on.
Let’s begin.
Casual
The majority of the casual shirts I wear are made by a company named Bylt Basics.
I enjoy these shirts so much in fact, that I got rid of 80% of my other casual shirts to replace them with these.
These shirts feature a performance like fabric and are all of mine are in solid colors.
I have about 8 of these shirts and absolutely love wearing them. They are minimal, sophisticated, and comfortable.
I enjoy them so much I wouldn’t ever hesitate to pay full price for them . I truly like them that much.
As for accessories, I enjoy wearing a nice watch with these outfits. Wearing a nice watch is a subtle way to elevate any casual outfit.
Speaking of elevating…
Elevated Casual
Elevated casual to me is the kind of clothes you would wear to any adult form of recreation such as dinner, bowling or games, a party, or a shopping trip with friends.
The main difference between this shirt and the former is its button-down collar, and shirt placket.
The shirt I’m wearing in the photo is a long sleeve polo from Spier & Mackay. I bought one in gray as this is one of my favorite colors.
One thing to note is that even though it has a collar, I still wear it untucked. Yes it’s elevated casual, but it’s casual nonetheless.
And lastly I still wear a nice watch with it as in my previous outfit. This is a common denominator across all my outfits.
But what if I were to go out and explore the city with my wife? Well, I’d wear something a little bit different…
Day Out With My Wife
Fun Fact: The shirt I’m wearing in this photo is at least 8 years old. The brand is Stafford, and it is incredibly well-made. I probably got it from JC Penny back in the day.
In the book “The Millionaire Next Door”, the author conducted research on American millionaires and found that many of them shopped at JC Penny and preferred this exact brand.
Did I know all that when I got it 8+ years ago? Nope!
But the book was absolutely right! You get a great product at an incredibly affordable price (habits of the rich).
Now back to your regularly scheduled programming…
When I’m out with my wife I always keep my sunglasses handy. Why? Because everybody looks better in sunglasses. Plus they are super practical.
And another accessory I love wearing when I can is my Stetson Open Road straw hat. Primarily during the Spring, Summer, and early Fall.
Although it may be a relaxing day out with my wife, I actually enjoy taking things up a notch with my outfits.
This is because level of respect I have for my wife is one of the big reasons I always aim to dress well.
I represent her, as she represents me everywhere she goes. So when people see us walking around together, I want to make sure I’m giving it my best!
And speaking of my best, there’s one level above even the one that I’ve just mentioned.
My formal attire.
Formal
I dress formally mostly at church. I love my church for the way it allows me to draw closer to God and my church family.
Another reason I love going my church is that it gives me a opportunity to wear my best and most formal clothes. Namely suits and ties.
Typically I wear a white shirt every service, and I always have my shoes shined (because I know a guy).
The ties I prefer are simple just like my style in general. I like solids, stripes, and some small patterns.
I should say I’m not a fan of “crazy socks”. You won’t catch me wearing anything silly or colorful when it comes to my dress socks.
Additionally, I’m not a fan of the “big logo belt buckles”. I feel they overwhelm the rest of the outfit and aren’t exactly a classic look.
To each their own, but you won’t see me doing it!
Conclusion
I hope you’ve enjoyed this brief look into my personal style.
I always aim for a clean, streamlined, and intentional look. The goal with my outfits is simply to look like a “classic”.
Until next time, y’all have a good one.
