You might be surprised at how many people wear cologne or some type of fragrance.

Only about 23% of men wear cologne all the time. If you’re someone who wants to separate themselves from the pack, having a cologne (and more importantly a signature scent) is exactly what you need.
Today we will be talking all about that as I share my simple cologne collection and why you should be wearing cologne (or perfume for the ladies) all the time.
Let’s begin.
Know Your Concentrations
First you should know the difference between concentrations.
The below chart provides a visual representation of how much fragrance is in each bottle.

Eau de Toilette (EDT) is the most common concentration that you’ll find at department stores.
The concentration of fragrance itself makes up between 5-15% of the total contents of the bottle.
Compare that to the Eau De Parfum (EDP) concentration which ranges from 15-20% fragrance in the bottle.
The Parfum concentration is a step above even that, and can last on your skin for up to 8 hours.
Although these two options cost more upfront when compared to their toilette counterpart, they last longer on my skin and allow me to use less and still achieve the same effect.
It is for this reason that the EDP concentration and above is all that I would ever buy.
With all that said, let’s take a look at the specific colognes I wear.
Spring/Summer

This cologne was first introduced to me by my dad. If my memory serves me correctly, he picked these up while working out of town in California.
And although I was in high school when I first experienced this cologne, I still enjoy this fragrance to this day.
Wearing this cologne in the spring and summer sun only amplifies it’s scent.
This is because the heat from the sun reacts to the cologne and has a way of making its citrus-like fragrance even stronger. Truly a perfect combination.
Fall/Winter

I found this cologne while searching online for a great fall/winter fragrance. While I enjoy Versace Eros, it’s not something I wanted to wear year round.
Versace Eros is bright and summery, while the Ferragamo Uomo is more somber and moody.
The best way to describe it’s scent is like a woodsy musk.
(Describing scents is not easy lol)
Out of the two colognes I wear, I absolutely love the Uomo by Salvatore Ferragamo.
Why I Only Have 2 Colognes In My Collection

Simplicity. That’s the name of the game for me.
If someone happens to smell my cologne, I don’t want it to be overwhelming or repulsive, but I also don’t want it to be constantly changing.
To me, it just doesn’t make sense to have a lot of fragrances. Sure “a lot” is a relative term, but to me, less is more.
I only have one way I sign my name on documents. Likewise I like to keep my signature scents minimal as well.
Establish Your Signature Scent

You’ve seen the graph, and you’ve seen the exact colognes in my collection.
This is a great way to get into cologne or perfumes for yourself.
Smelling good is a great way to put that finishing touch on a great outfit. Don’t miss the opportunity to stand out in all the right ways.
